Artemis is an enhanced data control for Visual Basic and Visual C++. It supports files used by CA-Clipper (.dbf/.dbt/.ntx) and FoxPro (.dbf/.fpt/.idx/.cdx). This control has all the functionality of the standard data control while adding several powerful features such as a fast text search for memo fields, enhanced date and numeric fields, optimized query capabilities, and record-level data encryption. Both the 16- and 32-bit file sets represent a huge reduction in the size of necessary support files (roughly 300K total for the 32-bit version) from the Access/Jet engine that ships with VB. This powerful, high-performance control ships with a sample application and very thorough documentation.
